Paį¹hamarukkhasutta A Tree (1st)
āSeyyathÄpi, bhikkhave, ye keci jambudÄ«pakÄ rukkhÄ, jambÅ« tesaį¹ aggamakkhÄyati; āMendicants, of all the trees in the Black Plum Tree Land, the black plum is said to be the best. The black plum (jambu) is also said to be the best of all trees at Skanda PurÄį¹a 252.26.
evameva kho, bhikkhave, ye keci bodhipakkhiyÄ dhammÄ, paƱƱindriyaį¹ tesaį¹ aggamakkhÄyati, yadidaį¹ābodhÄya. In the same way, the faculty of wisdom is said to be the best of the qualities on the side of awakening; that is, for becoming awakened.
Katame ca, bhikkhave, bodhipakkhiyÄ dhammÄ? And what are the qualities on the side of awakening?
Saddhindriyaį¹, bhikkhave, bodhipakkhiyo dhammo, taį¹ bodhÄya saį¹vattati. The faculties of faith,
VÄ«riyindriyaį¹ ā¦peā¦ energy,
satindriyaį¹ ā¦ mindfulness,
samÄdhindriyaį¹ ā¦ immersion,
paƱƱindriyaį¹ bodhipakkhiyo dhammo, taį¹ bodhÄya saį¹vattati. and wisdom are qualities on the side of awakening, in that they lead to becoming awakened.
SeyyathÄpi, bhikkhave, ye keci jambudÄ«pakÄ rukkhÄ, jambÅ« tesaį¹ aggamakkhÄyati; Of all the trees in the Black Plum Tree Land, the black plum is said to be the best.
