ā€œPaƱcimāni, bhikkhave, indriyāni. ā€œMendicants, there are these five faculties. Here we move on to another set of faculties, the five faculties relating to feeling. The capacity to feel is also a kind of spiritual potency, since feeling stirs a meditator to the path. They are defined at SN 48.36.

Katamāni paƱca? What five?

Sukhindriyaṁ, dukkhindriyaṁ, somanassindriyaṁ, domanassindriyaṁ, upekkhindriyaṁ—The faculties of pleasure, pain, happiness, sadness, and equanimity.

imāni kho, bhikkhave, paƱcindriyānÄ«ā€ti. These are the five faculties.ā€
