Paį¹­hamajanasutta Engendered Gives Birth (1st) Produces (1)

ā€œKiṁsu janeti purisaṁ, ā€œWhat engenders a person? ā€œWhat gives birth to a person? ā€œWhat is it that produces a person?

kiṁsu tassa vidhāvati; What does one have that runs around? What do they have that runs about? What does he have that runs around?

Kiṁsu saṁsāramāpādi, What rushes toward the wandering-on? What enters transmigration? What enters upon saṁsara?

kiṁsu tassa mahabbhayanā€ti. What does one have as one’s great danger?ā€ What’s their greatest fear?ā€ What is his greatest fear?ā€

ā€œTaṇhā janeti purisaṁ, ā€œCraving engenders a person. ā€œCraving gives birth to a person. ā€œIt is craving that produces a person;

cittamassa vidhāvati; One’s mind is what runs around. Their mind is what runs about. His mind is what runs around;

Satto saṁsāramāpādi, A being rushes toward the wandering-on. A sentient being enters transmigration. A being enters upon saṁsara;
