VÄcÄbhikaį¹
khÄmi mahesi tuyhaį¹; I hope for your words, Great Seer.āI long for your voice, great seer.
Tava sutvÄna nigghosaį¹, Having heard your pronouncement,After hearing your message,
Sikkhe nibbÄnamattanoā. Iāll train for my own unbinding.āI shall train myself for extinguishment.ā
āTenahÄtappaį¹ karohi, āIn that case, be ardentāāWell then, be keen, alert,ā

Ito sutvÄna nigghosaį¹, Then, having heard my pronouncement,After hearing this message, go on
Sikkhe nibbÄnamattanoā. train for your own unbinding.āand train yourself for extinguishment.ā
āPassÄmahaį¹ devamanussaloke, āI see in the world of beings divine & human,āI see in the world of gods and humans
AkiƱcanaį¹ brÄhmaį¹amiriyamÄnaį¹; a brahman who lives possessing nothing.a brahmin traveling with nothing.

PamuƱca maį¹ sakka kathaį¹
kathÄhiā. From my perplexities, Sakyan, release me!ārelease me, Sakyan, from my indecisions.ā

kathiṠdhotaka kañci loke; can I release from perplexity.in the world who is indecisive, Dhotaka.
DhammaƱca seį¹į¹haį¹ abhijÄnamÄno, But knowing the most excellent Dhamma,But when you understand the best of teachings,
Evaį¹ tuvaį¹ oghamimaį¹ taresiā. you will cross over this flood.āyou shall cross this flood.ā
āAnusÄsa brahme karuį¹ÄyamÄno, āTeach with compassion, brahman,āTeach me, brahmin, out of compassion,
Vivekadhammaį¹ yamahaį¹ vijaƱƱaį¹; the Dhamma of seclusion so that I may knowāthe principle of seclusion so that I may understand.
YathÄhaį¹ ÄkÄsova abyÄpajjamÄno, so that I, unafflicted as space,I wish to practice right here, peaceful, independent,
Idheva santo asito careyyaį¹ā. may go about right here, independent, at peace.āunobstructed as space itself.ā
āKittayissÄmi te santiį¹, āI will expound to you peaceāI shall extol that peace for you,ā

Tare loke visattikaį¹ā. youāll go beyond entanglement in the world.āmay cross over clinging in the world.ā
āTaƱcÄhaį¹ abhinandÄmi, āAnd I relish, Great Seer,āAnd I rejoice, great seer,
mahesi santimuttamaį¹; that peace supreme,in that supreme peace,

āYaį¹ kiƱci sampajÄnÄsi, āWhatever youāre alert to,āOnce you have understood that everything,ā

Uddhaį¹ adho tiriyaƱcÄpi majjhe; above, below, across, in between:āyou are aware of in the worldā

goti loke, Knowing it as a bond in the world,above, below, all round, betweenā
BhavÄbhavÄya mÄkÄsi taį¹hanāti. donāt create craving for becoming or non-.āCraving for becoming and for non-becoming (or dis-becoming) are the two subtlest forms of craving that keep the round of birth and death going. See Sn 5:4, note 5.is a chain, donāt crave for life after life.ā
