Dvattiṁsākāra The Thirty-Two Parts of the Body

Atthi imasmiṁ kāye—Kesā lomā nakhā dantā taco, maṁsaṁ nhāru aį¹­į¹­hi aį¹­į¹­himiƱjaṁ vakkaṁ, hadayaṁ yakanaṁ kilomakaṁ pihakaṁ papphāsaṁ, antaṁ antaguṇaṁ udariyaṁ karÄ«saṁ matthaluį¹…gaṁ, pittaṁ semhaṁ pubbo lohitaṁ sedo medo, assu vasā kheįø·o siį¹…ghāṇikā lasikā muttanti. There are in this body: hairs of the head, body hairs, nails, teeth, skin, flesh, sinews, bones, bone-marrow, kidneys, heart, liver, pleura, spleen, lungs, intestines, mesentery, undigested food, excrement, bile, phlegm, pus, blood, sweat, fat, tears, grease, spit, mucus, synovic fluid, urine, and the brain in the head.ā€œIn this body there is head hair, body hair, nails, teeth, skin, flesh, sinews, bones, bone marrow, kidneys, heart, liver, diaphragm, spleen, lungs, intestines, mesentery, undigested food, feces, brain, bile, phlegm, pus, blood, sweat, fat, tears, grease, saliva, snot, synovial fluid, urine.ā€ Novices are traditionally instructed in this meditation immediately after ordination in order to dispel lust.
