āPaƱcimÄni, bhikkhave, aƱƱÄbyÄkaraį¹Äni. āMendicants, there are five ways of declaring enlightenment.
KatamÄni paƱca? What five?
MandattÄ momÅ«hattÄ aƱƱaį¹ byÄkaroti; One declares enlightenment out of stupidity and folly.
pÄpiccho icchÄpakato aƱƱaį¹ byÄkaroti; Or because of corrupt wishes, being of wishful temperament.
ummÄdÄ cittakkhepÄ aƱƱaį¹ byÄkaroti; Or because of madness and mental disorder.
adhimÄnena aƱƱaį¹ byÄkaroti; Or out of overestimation.
sammadeva aƱƱaį¹ byÄkaroti. Or one declares enlightenment rightly.
ImÄni kho, bhikkhave, paƱca aƱƱÄbyÄkaraį¹ÄnÄ«āti. These are the five ways of declaring enlightenment.ā
